Belgian artist Karolien Polenus brings siREn cAlls to Amsterdam for the first time — a live performance that submerges the audience in the hidden voice of water.

Underwater recordings and field recordings are woven together in real time with acoustic instruments, voice, frequencies and visuals, creating an evolving sonic environment where listening becomes something physical.

A listening space built around water’s memory, resonance and capacity to carry frequency as living information. Beneath the surface, water speaks in currents and vibration; above it, an array of instruments answer.

Karolien Polenus, also known as NiXiE, is a Brussels-based DJ, sound artist, performance artist and certified sound therapist, with deep roots in Belgium’s underground music scene. In siREn cAlls, she brings together her work with sound, nature, spirituality and experimental music.

For its Amsterdam debut, Siren Calls invites you to slow down, listen differently, and remember that what moves through water also moves through us.
