The ritual of gathering around music and sound is as old as our species. It has survived war, plague, empire and prohibition.
What happens when we begin to treat it not simply as culture or entertainment, but as something fundamental to how humans connect, perceive and understand the world?
Resonance: Listening to the Future brings together five distinctive voices from different disciplines to explore the role of sound, frequency, consciousness, embodied knowledge and immersive technology in the environments of tomorrow.
The conversation moves between the ancient and the emerging: from intuitive and embodied forms of knowing to new technologies capable of changing how we experience space, sound and one another.
The panel features:
Carl Hayden Smith — Consciousness & Immersive Technology
Founder and Director of the Museum of Consciousness, Oxford University. Carl explores human perception, consciousness and the expanding edges of immersive experience.
Natasha Stark — Somatic Therapy, Sound & Embodied Knowledge
Somatic therapist, sound practitioner and writer. Through her work and forthcoming book The War on Knowing, Natasha explores the relationship between embodied knowledge and the systems that shape how we understand ourselves.
DJ Isis — Sound, Art & Cultural Transformation
Dutch DJ and producer Isis van der Wel is recognised as one of the pioneering female figures of electronic dance music. Her work explores sound as a connective and transformative cultural force.
Pieter Smits van Waesberghe — Intuitive Healing & Water Stewardship
Working across inner and outer environments, Pieter brings a perspective on intuition, healing and our relationship with the natural world.

Resonance: Listening to the Future is a day-long programme by The Sanctuary Earth Foundation, presented at The Stargate during Amsterdam Dance Event.
Across breath, immersive sound, frequency and conversation, the programme asks how the technologies, spaces and cultural practices of the future might deepen rather than diminish our capacity to connect.
